After practising dance and dance-related exercises like Callanetics (a mixture of ballet, gymnastic and Yoga) and Pilates (originally a training-method for dancers) since my youth I wanted to dive deeper. That is what made me start practising Hatha Yoga and becoming a Diploma Yoga-teacher (500 hours) with the British Wheel of Yoga, the British representative of the European Union of Yoga (https://www.europeanyoga.org/en/)
Hatha Yoga is a philosophy that roots back more than 5,000 years and I would like to show ways to make it accessible and useful for people of the 21st century. I do not follow a specific Hatha Yoga style or lineage, but rather have an independent approach and offer what suits students’ needs and abilities.
I teach Yoga in a dynamic but gentle style, encouraging students to explore postures and breathing with consciousness, awareness and a non-competitive attitude.
My teaching approach is to create awareness for one’s own body by respecting the body’s limits – without refraining from challenges. My classes are suitable for beginners but also for experienced students who would like to use a different approach to Hatha Yoga.
I teach Yoga classes, workshop and private sessions in English and German, in the area of Graz (Austria) and abroad.
I explain safe, conscious, and joyful ways to approach individual postures, sequences of postures, and breath-work, which enables students to search, explore and find their own way of Yoga. Complex postures and sequences are split up and explained thoroughly in individual components so that learning objectives are manageable and achievable.
I practise and teach classical Hatha Yoga, with influences by Iyengar, Desikachar and Scaravelli Yoga. My style is dynamic but gentle, with a rather slow flow where applicable.
